What is Bcmwltry.exe?

Bcmwltry.exe is a process for the Windows Operating System that controls the tray icon for the Broadcom Corporation Wireless Network software. Bcmwltry.exe provides the user with easy access to important controls and configuration settings for Broadcom wireless network cards. This allows users to connect to various wireless networks that are available in the area as well as change settings concerning how the network card runs. Bcmwltry.exe can be found in the System32 folder of the user’s primary hard drive and runs on all versions of Windows.

How Bcmwltry.exe Works
Bcmwltry.exe runs the tray program for Broadcom network cards, but does not control the network card itself. When Bcmwltry.exe runs, it displays a tray icon for the user’s Broadcom network card in the Windows Taskbar and allows the user to control various configuration settings and other options when the icon is accessed. When the user stops Bcmwltry.exe from running by closing it via the tray icon or Windows Task Manager, the tray icon is no longer displayed and users must access network card settings manually via the Windows Control Panel.

Is Bcmwltry.exe Harmful
Bcmwltry.exe is not known to be a harmful program, but can be impersonated by malicious software, especially if the file itself is located anywhere other than the System32 folder of the user’s primary hard drive. If Bcmwltry.exe is suspected of being a malicious program or is causing problems, it is highly recommended that the user run an antivirus software, such as Advanced SystemCare, Spyware Terminator, or Malwarebytes’ Antimalware. If the file is found to be a malicious program, the user should also install a registry cleaner, such as CCleaner, to make sure no damage has already been done to the Windows Registry.

How To Remove Bcmwltry.exe
If Bcmwltry.exe is using too much CPU memory or is causing harm to the user’s computer, the user can stop the program from running by opening the Task Manager (Ctrl + Alt + Del), selecting Processes, right-clicking Bcmwltry.exe in the list, and selecting “End Process”. The user also has the ability to prevent the program from running when the computer is started by opening the Start Menu, opening “Run…”, entering “msconfig”, and clicking OK. The user can then select the “Startup” tab, uncheck the checkbox for Bcmwltry.exe, click Apply, and click OK. The user will then need to restart his/her computer.
